Trane's new XL824 thermostat with built in home intelligence bridge.

In One more week will be ready to start offering customers the new Trane XL824 thermostat.  This thermostat is awesome!  It has a 4.3 inch touch screen and a built in home intelligence bridge.  The XL824 can control over 200 z-wave products throughout your home from any internet computer, smartphone or tablet.  The new thermostat is designed to work on all standard HVAC systems and can alert homeowners if the systems isn't working properly.  As a result, consumers can rectify issues remotely,giving residents peace of mind and ultimate operational efficiency. 

We had the chance to install the thermostat on are office and try it out.  It was easy to install and set up.  The best thing about this thermostats is the built in bridge.  All you have to do is go to the set up app and enter the WPI address and you were instantly connected.  No more finding a cord and connecting a bridge to the router and  then holding the button next to the thermostat.  I also liked the fact that this thermostat does not need a 24 control board like the XL950.  This thermostat is 24 volt and has a common terminal which is a plus.
